Premier League sides Sunderland and Brentford are reportedly interested in Milan striker Santiago Gimenez for the January transfer window.
Milan forward Gimenez has attracted interest from England, specifically from Sunderland and Brentford, according to Calciomercato.com.
The Mexico international is currently out of action due to an ankle injury and is not expected to recover in time for the next Serie A match against Lazio on Saturday, having continued to train separately today.
According to the report, ex-Roma director Florent Ghisolfi, now at Sunderland, is an admirer of Gimenez, but Brentford and Turkish side Fenerbahce are also monitoring the Mexican striker.
Gimenez joined Milan in a deal exceeding €30m in the January 2025 transfer window, but the ex-Feyenoord star has struggled to justify his price tag at San Siro with just seven goals scored in 30 appearances across all competitions with the Rossoneri.
This season, he has only netted one goal in Coppa Italia, making 11 appearances across all competitions.
According to the report, Milan directors aim to sell Gimenez for a similar fee in January, as the Mexican’s possible departure would pave the way for the signature of a new centre-forward.
