Player Ratings – Milan 2-2 Pisa: Saelemaekers the brightest spark as Rossoneri held by plucky Pisa

Milan were left stunned after an awkward 2-2 draw with Pisa and Alexis Saelemaekers was Football Italia’s Man of the Match.

Best Milan Player: Saelemaekers – Was almost certainly Milan’s brightest attacking outlet, a constant menace down the flanks and having several strong scoring opportunities. Whilst he didn’t get his name on the scoresheet, he was a ubiquitous threat for Allegri’s side.

Lowest Milan Rating: Gimenez – Nothing is going right for the Mexican forward who missed another good chance today. The striker, who was prolific for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie, has struggled to adapt to Italy, even after a year, as his future at the clubs grows more and more in doubt. His replacement, Nkunku, was not much better.

Coach: Allegri 6 – Made decent substitutes on the night, Athekame getting on the scoresheet but Nkunku missing a good chance before Pisa took the lead. However, his side were set up wrong and failed to capitalise on a plethora of chances.

Best Pisa Player: Nzola – Whilst Cuadrado came on to convert the equalising penalty and showed his experience off the bench, it was the Angolan striker who made the most of his time on the ball. Despite touching the ball less than any other player in the two elevens, his late goal nearly saw Pisa pick up all three points.

Lowest Pisa Rating: Tramoni – The Frenchman was poor tonight and was unable to settle into any sort of rhythm in the Pisa midfield. Was eventually substituted with twenty minutes to go.

Coach: Gilardino 8 – Showed up at San Siro exactly how a coach should. Set up his team to resist Milan’s technical front line and made use of his squad to hit the Rossoneri on the counter. Bringing on the experienced Cuadrado at half-time was a good call, with the Colombian converting the penalty to tie the game at 1-1.
