"Let's get the job done"- Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah charges Black Queens ahead of Egypt clash

Black Queens forward Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah has charged her teammates to complete their WAFCON qualifiers against Egypt in style despite the controversy that shrouded the team's preparations in Accra. The players had earlier decided not to train over unpaid bonuses, leading to a meeting with the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Honourable Kofi Adams.Following a back-and-forth between the team, the GFA and the Ministry, the players later decided to train for Tuesday's encounter with the Cleopatras.Ahead of the match, the Nottingham Forest Women star urged her teammates to get the job done in what will be her first game on home soil."First half completed 3-0. Let’s go again and get the job done," she posted on social media. The Black Queens lead from the first leg after a 3-0 victory in Ismailia. Goals from Doris Boaduwaa, Mary Amponsah and Grace Asantewaa handed Ghana a huge advantage. An aggregate win will secure the Black Queens their place at the next Women's Africa Cup of Nations, which also serves as the qualifiers for the Women's World Cup in 2027.

Thomas Frank hails Mohammed Kudus’ impact in central role during Spurs’ win over Everton

Thomas Frank hails Mohammed Kudus’ impact in central role during Spurs’ win over Everton

[caption id="attachment_1263881" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Mohammed Kudus[/caption]Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has praised Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus for his influence in a more central role during the clubs 30 victory over Everton on Sunday.Kudus, who has been one of Tottenhams standout performers this season, was deployed slightly differently in the match, operating closer to Xavi Simons in the middle of the pitch, a tactical tweak that caught the eye of both Frank and spectators.Speaking after the game, Frank explained that the change was deliberate and designed to make use of Kudus creativity and ball control.I sometimes try to change it a little bit, tweak it a little bit in the game, Frank said. Having Kudus a little bit more in the middle, together with Xavi Simons, could create a little bit of an overload. I thought there were elements of something good, especially in the first half. While Frank stopped short of confirming that Kudus would play centrally in future games, he admitted to being pleased with the outcome. Its not like its going to be a definite and hell play there all the time, Kudus, but those bits in it I liked, he added.Kudus has continued his fine Premier League form, contributing assists and dictating play for a Spurs side that remains unbeaten away from home this season.

AFCON without Ghana is like a car without an engine – MP Patrick Yaw Boamah

AFCON without Ghana is like a car without an engine – MP Patrick Yaw Boamah

Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has lamented Ghana’s absence from the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, describing the tournament without the Black Stars as “a car without an engine.”The legislator expressed his disappointment over the team’s failure to qualify, attributing it to a lack of preparation and seriousness from those responsible. Ghana finished bottom of their qualifying group, which included Angola, Sudan, and Niger, with Angola and Sudan advancing to the finals in Morocco.Speaking on Sporty FM’s Drive Time Show, Boamah said it would be disheartening to watch the competition without Ghana’s national anthem being played."That you’ll be watching AFCON without the national anthem being played, while anthems of other countries are being played… It’s painful," he said. "Because we were ill-prepared and not serious at the time."He, however, believes the setback should serve as an opportunity for reflection and rebuilding."Maybe it’s a good thing for us to use this time to assess our players in Europe, Africa, and Asia, and rebuild a strong and attractive national team," he added. The Black Stars have since redeemed themselves by qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
