Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Stephen Appiah, is confident that Ghana has the talent to make a deep run at the 2026 World Cup.After a disappointing campaign in 2024, the Black Stars bounced back strongly to secure qualification for next summer’s tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.As the four-time African champions prepare to learn their group-stage opponents later today in Washington, DC, Appiah—who captained Ghana to their first World Cup appearance in 2006 in Germany—believes the current squad has the quality to excel on football’s biggest stage.“The draw [2026 World Cup] is coming up in December, we are going to America, Canada and Mexico," Appiah via Betway.“We have done that before when we went to Germany. Black Queens and Brooklyn FC Women star, Jennifer Cudjoe, has hailed her teammates for their performance against the English Women's national team. The Black Queens suffered a 2-0 defeat to the European champions on Tuesday evening at St Mary's despite putting up a strong display.Cudjoe produced a solid midfielder performance alongside Grace Asantewaa but goals at either side of the half from Lucia Kendall and Alessia Russo was enough for England."Ending December camp on a good test!! Black Queens forward Doris Boaduwaa believes the team is on the right track despite their international friendly defeat to England. Ghana lost to the European champions in a highly-competitive game at the St Mary's on Tuesday evening.The Lionesses got off to a brilliant start after Lucia Kendall opened the scoring in the sixth minute but waited till the final minute to get a second through star-player Alessia Russo, who converted from the spot.Boaduwaa was Ghana's best players in the game and had a good opportunity to register her name on the scoresheet."A tough match against England yesterday 2–0 loss but a solid performance from the team.
