Outstanding James Essilfie returns as Chief Executive of Medeama SC

Highly respected football ‘administrator par excellence’ James Essilfie has made a sensational return to his role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Medeama Sporting Club, four years after stepping down from the position. His comeback marks a significant boost for the Tarkwa-based club, where he previously played a key role in shaping its success and identity.

A civil engineer by profession, the soft-spoken Essilfie continued to serve on the clubs board as Head of Administration following his resignation, maintaining close ties with Medeamas operations.

His reinstatement comes after concerted efforts by the Club President and the Board of Directors, who were keen to bring back the man widely regarded as the driving force behind the clubs rise to prominence in Ghanaian football.

Since Medeamas transformation into a Ghana Premier League club some 15 years ago, Essilfie has been an integral figure, overseeing the clubs administrative, technical and financial growth.

During his tenure, the Mauve and Yellows clinched two MTN FA Cup titles and made two CAF Confederation Cup appearances, reaching the group stage in 2016,a remarkable achievement that cemented Medeamas reputation on the continental stage.

Essilfie holds a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and brings extensive professional experience from Ghanas football ecosystem. He previously worked as an engineer with Consar Limited, Desimone Construction Limitedand Taysec Construction Limited, as well as serving as a consultant in civil works.

His leadership, professionalism and deep understanding of football administration have earned him widespread respect within the Ghanaian football community.
