The Italy national team had their first training session of the November international break at Coverciano on Monday, but there are now fresh concerns surrounding Atletico Madrid’s Giacomo Raspadori, who was seen limping out of Gennaro Gattuso’s session.
The Italy national team will take on Moldova on Thursday and Norway on Sunday in the final two matches of the 2026 World Cup qualification campaign. If the Azzurri finish the group in second, where they sit currently, they will have to go through another play-off campaign in order to qualify for the final tournament.
Gattuso confirmed a squad of 27 players to take on Moldova and Norway last week. He has already had to make one alteration to his selections, with Nicolo Cambiaghi coming in to replace the injured Moise Kean, who has dropped out of the squad.
The available players took part in their first training session of the November international break on Monday. Only 12 players (two goalkeepers and 10 outfielders) took part in the training session, while the rest of the squad, most of whom started on Sunday, carried out recovery work in the gym.
Among the 12 players who did train on the pitch on Monday was former Napoli forward Raspadori, who was seen limping out of the session with a pain in his glute according to reports from TMW.
He was unable to rejoin the rest of the team before the end of the session.
