Official: Arsenal confirm double signing of twin brothers

Premier League leaders Arsenal have confirmed a landmark agreement to sign twin brothers Edwin Quintero and Holger Quintero from Ecuador’s famed academy side Independiente del Valle.

This is a deal that will see the 16-year-old phenoms officially join the North London club in August 2027, on their 18th birthdays.

Arsenal’s official statement described the Quintero twins as “two of the most exciting young talents in South America,” praising their consistent form at youth level for both club and country.

It’s no coincidence the Gunners moved swiftly to secure them. Independiente del Valle boasts a proven record of youth development, having produced stars such as Moisés Caicedo and current Gunner Piero Hincapié.

Arsenal sources confirmed that the twins have been on the club’s radar for well over a year, with scouts tracking their progress across youth competitions.

Edwin Quintero is a left-footed right-winger known for blistering pace, electric dribbling, and a natural ability to beat defenders one-on-one. Local media have even likened him to a young Neymar for his flair and attacking instincts.

Holger Quintero is equally talented but operating centrally, Holger is a technically gifted attacking midfielder. He possesses sharp vision, creative passing, and quick feet to navigate midfield tight spaces, making him an intriguing playmaker for the future.

Both have already represented Ecuador at U-17 level, showcasing their talent on the international stage and underlining their potential to develop into senior internationals.

The timing and structure of this deal send a clear message. Arsenal are aiming for long-term success through youth development rather than short-term fixes.

The Quintero twins are expected to remain with Independiente del Valle during the 2025–26 and 2026-27 seasons, continuing to develop physically and technically until they’re eligible to move.

Upon arrival in 2027, they’ll likely join Arsenal’s youth setup but given their talent, a pathway to first-team involvement isn’t out of the question, especially following the successful integration of young stars like Myles Lewis-Skelly and Max Dowman.
