Alvaro Morta was so frustrated by Yerry Mina during Como’s draw against Cagliari that he asked to be subbed off after the hour mark at the Stadio Sinigaglia.
Como were held to a 0-0 home draw by Cagliari on Saturday and saw their star striker Morata request to be substituted in the second half.
The Spain international received a yellow card at minute 62 for an unnecessary foul on Mina and immediately took off the captain’s armband, asking to leave the pitch.
As reported by several Italian media, including Calciomercato.com, Morata was visibly frustrated by Mina’s aggressive man-marking and some off-the-ball provocations, so he asked to be replaced to avoid further consequences.
Morata had missed three clear goal-scoring chances during the game, which surely didn’t do his mood any favours. The Spaniard hasn’t yet scored in Serie A this season, while Anastasios Douvikas, who replaced him against Cagliari, has netted twice in 10 league games in 2025-26.
