Luka Modric has been a major protagonist for Milan so far this season and preparing for the World Cup with Croatia, the club is so glad to have agreed an option to extend his contract.
The midfielder recently celebrated his 40th birthday, but despite so many saying this was a futile transfer for the Rossoneri, he has been front and centre in Max Allegri’s new project at San Siro.
We had revealed on June 4 that the agreement with Milan ran to June 2026, but that there was also an option to extend for one more season beyond that date.
That option now feels more like a guarantee, because there are few doubts from either side that the rapport can continue through to 2027, to the reciprocal satisfaction of both parties.
Modric never hid his desire to win a few trophies with Milan, and this season got off to a strong start, so Luka has his sights on success in his debut campaign or beyond.
