Christian Pulisic and Santiago Gimenez will not join their national teams during the international break, staying in Milan instead to focus on regaining full fitness.
Pulisic and Gimenez will be rested by the USMNT and Mexico during the international break in October, as neither has been included in the squads for upcoming friendlies, as reported by Gazzetta.
Pulisic suffered a hamstring injury during the USMNT’s latest game against Australia, irritating Milan.
The American winger spent the last month on the sidelines, but will be eligible against Parma over the weekend, as Massimiliano Allegri confirmed last week.
Pulisic will miss international friendlies against Paraguay on November 15 and Uruguay on November 19.
Gimenez will miss Mexico’s next games too, also against Paraguay and Uruguay. The Milan centre-forward explained his omission with a post on Instagram: “I’ve been playing with an ankle injury for several months, which hasn’t allowed me to be at 100% or feel comfortable on the field,” he wrote.
“With determination, I kept helping the team, but the pain increased. Now it’s time to stop, focus on recovery and come back as soon as possible.”
On the other hand, Adrien Rabiot, who is also injured, has been included in the France preliminary squad for the November games.
Milan will visit Parma on Saturday and then meet city rivals Inter after the international break on November 23.
