McTominay: ‘Napoli not still celebrating, very comfortable in most positions’

Scott McTominay assures Napoli haven’t been over-celebrating the Supercoppa Italiana as they prepare to face Cremonese. ‘I am very comfortable in the majority of positions in midfield.’

“I feel like the life of a footballer is normal, you can’t celebrate too much until the end of the season, so we trained as normal, prepared as normal, and we’re ready for this match,” McTominay told DAZN Italia.

The injury crisis was focused on the midfield, so forced Antonio Conte to change tactics to a 3-4-2-1 formation, but at least Stanislav Lobotka is fully fit again after a period of absence.

Having a versatile player like the Scotland international certainly helped in providing Conte with different tactical alternatives.

“It’s football, you have to play in any position that you are asked to do, and I am very comfortable in the majority of the positions in midfield. We just want to continue winning football games,” added McTominay.

“For sure, Lobotka is such a great player, he’s so calm on the ball and he helps us play through the lines really well, so it’s very simple for me to play alongside such a great player.”
