Manchester United are keen on Eintracht Frankfurt left back Nathaniel Brown. The Red Devils are understood to have sent scouts to watch the player during Frankfurt’s 2-0 defeat to Tottenham in last Wednesday’s final Champions League, League phase match.
Brown has been on the radar of Manchester City as well as Arsenal in recent months, and TEAMtalk has reported that United are now preparing to enter the race for the player with a £40 million offer.
United are understood to be on the market for a left back to replace Patrick Dorgu who suffered a hamstring injury during United’s 3-2 win over Arsenal last weekend. Dorgu is also seen internally as more of a wing player, after impressive showings higher up the pitch in recent weeks.
United’s shift to a 4-2-3-1 formation under interim manager Michael Carrick is also believed to play a part in United’s search for a natural left back. As it stands, only Luke Shaw stands as cover in that position.
Brown is viewed as one of Europe’s most exciting young full-backs. The 22-year-old became a full Germany international in October of 2025, lifting his profile and putting him on the radar of several top clubs.
The player cost Frankfurt just €3m from Nurnberg in 2024 and has enjoyed a meteoric rise since then. He now has a reported value of over 20x that figure.
Brown is under contract at Frankfurt until 2030 but is expected to be available in the summer after the World Cup for a fee of around €60m. Frankfurt is braced for significant Premier League interest for the player.
United are understood to be well into their summer planning, led by director of football Jason Wilcox. The three priority positions are believed to central midfield, a forward, and a full-back – with a preference for left-backs.
