Liverpool are interested in signing Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh. The Reds are believed to be on the market for a long term replacement for Mohamed Salah, who has struggled to recreate his prolific form of past seasons.

Reports linking Liverpool with high profile wingers to replace Salah have begun circulating, with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo and Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo the names most often mooted. Fulham’s Kevin was a late addition to the shortlist following some impressive showings, and it now appears Minteh is being tracked as well.

Football Insider has reported that Reds boss Arne Slot is interested in a reunion with the player, having worked with him in his final season in charge of Feyenoord. Brighton have set a £60-70m price tag on Minteh and are believed to be reluctant to part ways with the player.

The Gambia international has scored one goal and provided three assists in 11 Premier League appearances this season.

Minteh fits the bill of a pacey and direct winger to slot into Liverpool’s system. He can play on both flanks which could prove useful as Liverpool arguably don’t have a natural left winger.

Salah’s dip in form has reportedly hastened Liverpool’s search for wingers, with the 33-year-old nearing the end of what will likely be his last long term contract. Salah signed a contract extension in April that extended his deal to June 2027.

This came as rumours linking him with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia began to circulate. Reports of a staggering £150m-per-year offer, plus a stake in Al-Hilal dominated headlines for parts of the summer.

While the figure was never confirmed, Football Insider added that a lucrative offer remains on the table should Salah decide to depart Anfield. Minteh is just 21 years of age and would represent a long term investment for Liverpool.
