Liverpool closely monitoring £100m Salah replacement

Liverpool spent heavily in the summer transfer window but have struggled to hit the ground running so far this season.

The Reds were tipped to confidently retain their Premier League crown after securing several high-profile signings, including Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong.

It is understood that Newcastle view Gordon as a key player and have no intention of entering negotiations at a low valuation. The Magpies reportedly have no interest in selling unless their terms are firmly met.

There is no doubt that Gordon is one of the most talked-about wingers in the Premier League, having gone from strength to strength since his move from Everton to Newcastle.

The 24-year-old has been a long-term target for Liverpool, and it was reported in the summer that Newcastle would not entertain offers below £75m.

However, Gordon is now said to have a £100m release clause in his latest contract.

Liverpool’s interest in Gordon should come as no surprise, given his prolific and dangerous attacking partnership with Isak during their time together at Newcastle.
