Serie A stars Lautaro Martinez and Nico Paz were both involved as Argentina secured a 1-0 victory over Venezuela in the United States in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Having already secured their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Argentina are involved in international friendlies during the October break, with a 1-0 win over Venezuela in Miami on Friday night, local time, and an upcoming test against Puerto Rico in Florida at 1.00 BST on Wednesday morning (Tuesday night, local time).
Lautaro Martinez and Nico Paz, the only two Serie A representatives in the most recent Argentina squad, were both in the starting line-up for the friendly victory over Venezuela.
Como’s Nico Paz struck the post with a trademark striker from 25 yards out after 20 minutes in Miami.
Lautaro, meanwhile, came close to opening the scoring after just five minutes, but instead drew an impressive save from José Contreras from point-blank range.
The Inter captain went on to claim the assist for Giovanni Lo Celso’s match-winning goal, receiving the ball from Julian Alvarez on the edge of the area and slipping it to the Real Betis midfielder to slam home from 15 yards out.
