President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, is set to embark on a nationwide regional tour, beginning with a comprehensive four-day working visit to the three Northern Regions, as part of renewed efforts to deepen stakeholder engagement and accelerate football development across the country.
The tour commences on Monday, February 2, 2026, with the GFA President arriving in Wa, the Upper West Regional capital. During his stay, the 2nd Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will hold strategic engagements with the leadership of the Upper West Regional Football Association, alongside meetings with club owners and officials across the various football divisions. These interactions will focus on addressing challenges, identifying opportunities, and strengthening pathways for sustainable growth within the regional football ecosystem.
As part of the visit, President Simeon-Okraku will also pay a courtesy call on the Upper West Regional Minister, Hon. Charles Lwanga Puozuing, Esq. Discussions are expected to centre on areas of mutual interest, including youth football development, infrastructure expansion and enhanced collaboration between football authorities and government at the regional level.
Beyond stakeholder engagements, the President will embark on inspection tours of ongoing GFA projects in the region to assess progress and ensure alignment with the FA’s Associations long-term development agenda. The itinerary includes visits to the Malik Jabir Stadium and the newly constructed B.K. Adama Park.
Following his engagements in Wa, the GFA President and his entourage will make a stop in Tumu before proceeding to the Upper East Regional capital, Bolgatanga, for similar consultations with football administrators, club officials, and key stakeholders.
The Northern tour will conclude in Tamale, where President Simeon-Okraku is expected to round off the series of engagements with the Northern Regional Football Association and other football stakeholders in the region.
The nationwide tour forms part of the GFAs broader commitment to inclusive governance, grassroots development, and direct engagement with stakeholders at all levels, as the Association continues to strengthen football structures and promote sustainable growth across Ghana.
