Juventus have confirmed that centre-back Gleison Bremer has been diagnosed with an injury to his meniscus, and that he will have to undergo surgery again in an attempt to repair the damage.
The Brazil international had missed the majority of the 2024-25 campaign with an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that he picked up during a Champions League match against RB Leipzig in October. He was kept out of action for the remainder of the season.
Bremer marked his return to competitive action on the first weekend of the 2025-26 Serie A season, starting in his side’s 2-0 victory over Parma on the opening day. He was, however, left out of the starting line-up for both of Juve’s last two matches prior to the international break.
Juventus have since confirmed that Bremer has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his left knee, the same knee that was already operated on last season.
The 28-year-old will once again have to go under the knife to repair the damage, the club have confirmed.
“This morning in Lyon, Gleison Bremer underwent a medical consultation with Dr. Sonnery-Cottet, who diagnosed him with a torn medial meniscus in his left knee,” a statement from Juventus read.
“In the next few hours the player will undergo selective arthroscopic meniscectomy.”
