Italy U21 continued their perfect start to Euro 2027 qualifying with a dominant 4-0 win over Sweden U21, as Niccolò Pisilli struck twice and Francesco Camarda made history from the penalty spot.
Pisilli was outstanding in midfield, dictating the tempo and scoring two in the first half to put Silvio Baldini’s side in full control. The 17-year-old Camarda also got on the scoresheet, calmly converting from the spot to become Italy’s youngest-ever scorer at U21 level.
Cesena attacking midfielder Tommaso Berti completed the rout with a goal in injury time.
Camarda has been in fine form for Lecce recently and has continued his momentum for Baldini’s Azzurrini.
Sweden rarely threatened as Italy controlled possession and tempo throughout, with Nunziata’s team showing both fluidity and maturity.
The result makes it three wins from three for the Azzurrini, who now sit in second in their qualifying group, level on points with group leaders Poland, as they continue their bid to reach the next European Under-21 Championship.
