Juventus are interested in Lazio’s goalkeeper Christos Mandas, while Mattia Perin is pushing to return to Genoa.
A potential goalkeeper domino effect could animate the January transfer window in Serie A, and one of the key names is Lazio’s Mandas.
Sources with direct knowledge of the matter exclusively tell me that Juventus are interested in the 24-year-old who has become the second-choice keeper at the Olimpico behind Ivan Provedel.
Juventus have closely examined Mandas’ profile and hold him in high regard. Lazio demand more than €15m plus add-on, but any move will depend on whether they’ll get the green light to make new signings next month.
Mandas has attracted interest from Italian and foreign clubs, and a move to Juventus represents a top option in the player’s ambitions.
This scenario is closely linked to Mattia Perin’s situation. The Juventus goalkeeper is pushing for a return to Genoa, confirming long-standing rumours about his desire to wear the Rossoblu shirt once again.
Juventus, however, will only allow Perin to leave if they are certain of securing a high-level replacement, ruling out any simple swap deal involving Nicola Leali.
Interestingly, Lazio could turn to Leali as a potential replacement for Mandas.
At this stage, the goalkeepers’ carousel is still in its early stages, but contacts have already been made, and mutual appreciation is evident. Developments are expected soon as the January window approaches.
