Serie B side Spezia are set to sack their coach, Luca D’Angelo and replace him with ex-Italy CT Roberto Donadoni.
Spezia have won just one game from 11 this season and sit 19th in the Serie B table, level on seven points with last-placed Sampdoria, but with a better goal difference.
On Sunday, they suffered their latest defeat against Monza, practically putting an end to D’Angelo’s reign.
The 54-year-old had temporarily saved his job with a 4-0 away win at Avellino at the end of October, but then only collected one point in the following two matches.
Spezia are now set to appoint ex-Italy coach Donadoni. It’s a decision from President Charlie Stillitano, who first knew the Milan legend at the end of his playing career in New York.
Modesto and Pagliuca were the names mentioned by the technical area, but Stillitano decided to go for Donadoni instead.
The ex-Milan and Italy winger is expected to make his debut as the new Spezia coach against Bari.
His last appearance on the bench dates back to 2020, when he was sacked by the Chinese side Shenzhen.
