Roma made short work of Glasgow Rangers at Ibrox, as early Matias Soulé and Lorenzo Pellegrini goals locked down the comfortable Europa League victory.
The Giallorossi were feeling the pressure after back-to-back Europa League home defeats to Lille and Viktoria Plzen, as well as losing two of their last four Serie A games. Paulo Dybala, Leon Bailey, Evan Ferguson and Angelino were injured, with Tommaso Baldanzi ineligible. Rangers were starting to turn things around under new coach Danny Röhl, but had lost all three Europa League ties. Rabbi Matondo, Dujon Sterling and Kieran Dowell missed out.

The Giallorossi dominated possession from the start and took the lead when a Lorenzo Pellegrini corner was flicked on by Bryan Cristante for Matias Soulé to nod in at the back post. It was his first ever goal in UEFA competition.
Youssef Chermiti made the most of a Kostas Tsimikas error on a long ball to surge down the right moments later, flashing his angled drive across the face of goal.
Jack Butland had his gloves stung by a Soulé snapshot at the near post, then Roma doubled their advantage when Artem Dovbyk controlled and laid it off for Pellegrini to sweep first-time into the near bottom corner with the inside of the right boot from 14 yards.
The first real Rangers threat came on 39 minutes when Gassama sent Mario Hermoso to ground, the roll across was fingertipped by Mile Svilar, and Gianluca Mancini made a decisive block on Moore.
Soulé drilled inches wide on the counter from another Dovbyk lay-off, then after the restart Hermoso charged down a Chermiti effort, with Raskin firing the rebound off target.
Roma somehow failed to make it 3-0 on 70 minutes with a chaotic move, as a cross was flicked on for the terrible Tsimikas volley, which turned into an accidental assist for Zeki Celik to bundle it onto the underside of the bar from practically on the line.
Soulé 13 (Ro), Pellegrini 37 (Ro)
