Gennaro Gattuso looks set to go with a strike partnership of Moise Kean and Mateo Retegui when Italy take on Estonia in World Cup qualifying on Saturday evening.
The Azzurri will visit Estonia at the Lilleküla Stadium in Tallinn, having beaten tonight’s opponents 5-0 in Udine back in September.
Italy are unbeaten under head coach Gattuso, following 5-0 and 5-4 wins over Estonia and Israel respectively during the September international break, the CT’s first matches in charge of his nation.
Pre-match reports indicate that Gattuso is inclined to line-up in a similar way to how he did last time out against Estonia: That is in a 4-4-2 shape and with an expected back line of Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Alessandro Bastoni, Riccardo Calafiori and Federico Dimarco.
Matteo Politano and Mattia Zaccagni were forced to withdraw from the squad through injury, so there is a possibility of seeing Giacomo Raspadori and full-back Leonardo Spinazzola starting out wide in the midfield four.
As it was last time out against Estonia, first-choice centre-forwards Kean and Retegui are expected to lead the line.
Estonia (4-2-3-1): Hein; Larsen, Paskotsi, Kuusk, Saliste; Palumets, Shein; Kait, Kristal, Sinyavskiy; Sappinen.
