Daniele De Rossi’s first post-match press conference as head coach of Genoa was interrupted by his close friend Edin Dzeko, who dropped in to wish his former Roma teammate all the best.
De Rossi was appointed as the successor to Patrick Vieira as head coach of Genoa on Thursday, and took charge of his first match in Serie A on Sunday.
Genoa and Fiorentina, both in the Serie A relegation zone, finished level at 2-2 after goals from Leo Ostigard, Albert Gudmundsson, Roberto Piccoli and Lorenzo Colombo.

Near the beginning of De Rossi’s post-match press conference after the 2-2 draw with Fiorentina, his former Roma colleague and current Viola striker Edin Dzeko stopped by to say hello and wish the new Genoa coach all the best.
“Good luck,” Dzeko told De Rossi as he leaned over his shoulder and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
“I was sure he was going to score when he came on,” De Rossi joked with a hint of relief.
