Fiorentina striker Edin Dzeko could potentially be fined and could also be handed a suspension for his conversation with the club’s supporters following the 2-0 loss away against Atalanta on Sunday evening.
It has been a troubling season for Fiorentina, who are still without a win in the league after 13 matches. No other team has previously survived relegation from Serie A with such a poor record after this number of games.
It was another disappointing display for Paolo Vanoli and his players away against Atalanta on Sunday afternoon, as goals from Odilon Kossounou and Ademola Lookman kept La Viola in 19th place in Serie A.
After full-time, the squad went over to the travelling Fiorentina supporters at the New Balance Arena to listen to their concerns at full-time.
There was much focus on Dzeko, who at one point, took hold of a megaphone and started to address the supporters directly.

Dzeko, following Fiorentina’s Europa League loss against AEK Athens on Thursday, had hit out at the club’s supporters, insisting that they “shouldn’t jeer at every misplaced pass.”
“It’s true, we’re not playing well, but we still need your help,” he added on Thursday.
That is why Dzeko decided to speak directly to the supporters after full-time on Sunday: To clarify what he meant with his original comments.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Viola veteran could potentially face punishment from the league as a result of his actions on Sunday. That is because article 25 paragraph nine of the sporting code of justice prohibits players from confronting supporters, or from making any threats or insults towards them.
It remains to be seen whether the relevant authorities will decide to take action against Dzeko, but if they do, he could be handed a fine of €20,000 and could potentially be banned for at least one domestic fixture.
