Raffaele Palladino has decided to rest Ademola Lookman and Ederson, but has decided to keep the majority of his winning Atalanta side together for Wednesday afternoon’s Coppa Italia clash with Genoa at the New Balance Arena.
La Dea get their Coppa Italia campaign underway with a visit from Genoa at 14.00 GMT (15.00 CET) on Wednesday afternoon. Daniele De Rossi’s side have already defeated Vicenza and Empoli in the earlier rounds of the cup to qualify for the round of 16.
Atalanta are coming in off the back of a 2-0 Serie A victory over Fiorentina, with goals coming from Lookman and Odilon Kossounou. Both drop out of the starting line-up today and are replaced by Kamaldeen Sulemana and Sead Kolasinac respectively.
The likes of Charles De Ketelaere, Gianluca Scamacca, Marten De Roon, Raoul Bellanova, Isak Hien and Beraj Djimsiti all keep their places in the team, though.
Genoa are unbeaten across their last four and are coming into Wednesday’s cup tie victorious after a 2-1 win against Hellas Verona over the weekend: Lorenzo Colombo and Morten Thorsby with the goals on that occasion.
De Rossi has made several alterations to his line-up, with Colombo, Vitinha, Thorsby, Ruslan Malinovskyi, Aaron Martin, Leo Ostigaard, Alessandro Marcandalli and Nicola Leali all dropping out of the team.
The winner of today’s tie will go on to face Juventus in the Coppa Italia quarter-final at the beginning of February.
Atalanta (3-4-2-1): Sportiello; Djimsiti, Hien, Kolasinac; Bellanova, De Roon, Pasalic, Zalewski; De Ketelaere, Sulemana; Scamacca.
Genoa (3-4-2-1): Siegrist; Norton-Cuffy, Otoa, Vasquez; Ellertsson, Masini, Frendrup, Fini; V. Carboni, Stanciu; Ekhator.
