Club ready to trigger Harry Kane clause to beat Manchester United to transfer

Harry Kane could reportedly be on his way out of Bayern Munich this summer as Barcelona look serious about making a move to bring him to the Nou Camp.

The England international has been on fire in front of goal since joining Bayern, arguably taking his game to another level after already showing himself to be a world class striker during his time at Tottenham.

It seems Barcelona are now eager to bring in Kane as their replacement for the ageing Robert Lewandowski, who will be out of contract at the end of this season.

That’s according to the Guardian, who note that Kane has a £57m release clause in his Bayern contract next summer, with Barca apparently ready to trigger it.

This is not the first and probably won’t be the last we hear about a potential Kane transfer next summer, with Manchester United and his old club Spurs having been strongly linked with him as well.

A recent report from TEAMtalk claimed that Kane was keen on returning to the Premier League as he has an eye on Alan Shearer’s record as the all-time top scorer in the competition.

The 32-year-old is not that far behind Shearer in the all-time list, and the way he’s playing at the moment suggests he has a realistic shot at breaking it even after being away for a few years.

Kane might be tempted by a big name like Barcelona, and it’s easy to see him being a perfect fit to replace Lewandowski up front.

Still, he’s already proven himself abroad with a hugely impressive goal haul at Bayern, while the move to the Allianz Arena has also helped him finally pick up some trophies.

Man United could really do with an elite front-man like Kane, so perhaps going to Old Trafford and trying to help this faded force rediscover its former glory would be an ideal next challenge for him.

Speaking of United, though, Kane might also be tempted to link up with Red Devils loanee Marcus Rashford at Barcelona, with his England teammate performing well with Hansi Flick’s side and perhaps looking likely to join permanently.
