The brother of Cagliari head coach Fabio Pisacane has been injured in a shooting in Naples, though his condition is not considered life-threatening.
The incident occurred during the night between Friday and Saturday in the Spanish Quarter of the city, outside a family-run business. According to reports from ANSA, via SkySport, three individuals were involved in the attack, with one of them armed.
Pisacane’s brother, 28-year-old Gianluca, was struck twice in the right leg by gunfire and was taken to the Vecchio Pellegrini hospital, where he received medical treatment. Doctors have confirmed that he is not in danger of life.
Italian police have launched an investigation to establish the motive behind the shooting, which took place outside Pisadog19, a club operated by the Pisacane family. Early reports suggesting that the coach’s father had also been attacked were later ruled out.
Pisacane addressed the incident in a message shared on social media, seeking to reassure supporters and the wider public. “As reported by several media outlets, my brother was involved in an attack last night and was injured by gunshots,” the Cagliari coach wrote. “I want to reassure everyone about his condition: he is not in danger of life. He suffered injuries to his leg and is doing well, considering what he went through.”
Pisacane also thanked those who had reached out with messages of support, describing the incident as a moment of great shock for the entire family.
