
Ghana midfielder Abu Francis is recovering well following successful surgery in Japan, the Ghana Football Association has confirmed.GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum said the playerâs condition has âsignificantly improvedâ after the procedure at Toyota Memorial Hospital earlier this week.Francis, who fractured both his tibia and fibula, is reported to be in high spirits as he begins the initial phase of his rehabilitation. His recovery is progressing smoothly, and he is expected to be discharged from the hospital this weekend.The GFA extended thanks to the surgical team at Toyota Memorial Hospital, the Black Stars medical staff led by Dr Prince Pambo, and Toulouse FCâs medical personnel for their coordinated efforts in ensuring the player received optimal care.Despite the positive progress, the Toulouse midfielder is unlikely to return in time for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with the club confirming he will miss the tournament. Francisâ focus now turns to a steady recovery ahead of resuming full training.
