Black Queens head coach Kim Bjorkegren has praised his youthful squad following Ghanaâs qualification for the 2026 Womenâs Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), describing the teamâs progress as a sign of a promising future.Ghana sealed their spot at next yearâs tournament in Morocco after beating Egypt 7-0 on aggregate in the final qualifying round.Speaking after the match, Bjorkegren highlighted the teamâs growth and experience since winning bronze at the 2024 WAFCON."If you take in a WAFCON, it was a long time ago that a womenâs team won a bronze medal," he said. "And for many of the players, that was their first WAFCON, maybe about 18 players or so. With that experience, of course, itâs going to help us in the future. We are a young and new team, and this group is just getting better and better."The Swedish coach expressed optimism that the teamâs development would continue as they prepare for next yearâs continental competition.
