Having been edged out 7-6 by Inter in last season’s semi-finals, Barcelona will be hoping to go all the way in the Champions League for the first time in 11 seasons as part of their second campaign under Hansi Flick.
Flick won LaLiga at the end of his first season in Spain and took Barca as far as they have been in the Champions League since 2018/19, losing after extra time in the second leg against Inter, having conceded an equaliser three minutes into added time.
Barca, who have been European champions five times, will host holders Paris Saint-Germain during the league phase, as well as travelling to 2011/12 and 2020/21 winners Chelsea.

Barcelona’s opponents in the league phase include Greek title holders Olympiacos, reigning Czech champions Slavia Prague and Danish Superliga winners Copenhagen.
Brugge finished second in Belgium and Eintracht Frankfurt were third in Germany, while Chelsea were fourth in England and Newcastle were fifth.
Barca have won three and lost one of their games against the Magpies, while their meeting with the Blues resumes a Champions League rivalry that has spanned 14 matches, with four wins apiece and six draws.
