Former Black Stars player Augustine Ahinful has described Ghanaâs 2-0 defeat to Japan in Fridayâs international friendly as a fair outcome.Ahinful noted the result âcouldâve been worse,â highlighting Japanâs dominance in key areas of play throughout the match. The Blue Samurai limited Ghana to just two shots on target while registering five on goal themselves from 14 attempts.Ghana struggled to progress the ball into the final third, with much of their play confined to their own half.âThe results are never in doubt. What we observed here, [the] 2-0, is a fair result. It could have been worse, looking at the number of shots that they [Japan] had in the second half,â Ahinful told TV3.âIâll still maintain that we should not take these matches for granted because weâve known for the past two, three months that weâll be playing South Korea and Japan,â he added.Ghana will aim to rebound when they face South Korea on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in their second international friendly of the current tour.
