Asante Kotokos Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, has revealed that the club is yet to receive the transfer fee from Albert Amoahs move to Libyan club Al Ahly Benghazi, despite the deal being completed a month ago.
Amoah sealed a switch to the Libyan side in a transfer reportedly valued at more than $200,000. He is also understood to have pocketed a $200,000 signing-on bonus, while earning a monthly salary of $20,000 in his debut season a figure expected to rise to $25,000 in the following campaign.
Speaking on the delay, Duku stressed that Kotokos Interim Management Committee chairman, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, is in ongoing communication with officials of Al Ahly Benghazi to ensure the agreed amount is settled.
I wouldn’t want to go deeply, but all that I can say is that Kotoko has a transfer agreement with Ali Benghazi in respect of a former striker, Albert Amoah,” he said.
Even though the transfer agreed amount is yet to hit the accounts of Kotoko, I can confirm to you that the IMC chairman is in constant touch with officials of Ali Benghazi, obviously the amount will be in.”
He declined to delve into the finer details of the contract but insisted there is no cause for concern.
