Alfie Agyemang scores debut goal as St Johnstone are held by Partick Thistle

Alfie Agyemang’s clinical finish lit up McDiarmid Park as the Italian-Ghanaian striker scored in St Johnstone’s 2–2 draw with Partick Thistle in the Championship on Friday night.St Johnstone trailed at the break after Oisin Smyth swept in the opener from Tony Watt’s pass on 42 minutes. Agyemang dragged them level three minutes into the second half, reacting sharply in the box to turn the game’s momentum and underline his impact since arriving on loan.Joshua McPake then fired Saints in front midway through the half after good work by Jamie Gullan, capping a dominant spell for Craig Levein’s side.But St Johnstone were denied all three points deep into stoppage time when Smyth held his nerve from the penalty spot to snatch a draw for the visitors.The goal was Agyemang’s first for the club and comes in his early appearances of the 2025/26 Championship campaign, having joined from Falkirk where he produced 5 goals and several assists across 31 league matches earlier in the season.St Johnstone now turn their focus to a trip to Airdrieonians in the league on Friday, 13 February.
