After Matteo Guendouzi was sold to Fenerbahce, now Lazio are in talks to send Nuno Tavares to Besiktas, but they are haggling over the €18m asking price.
The Aquile have made it clear they are prepared to dismantle Maurizio Sarri’s squad in January to free up funds for new signings, having been banned from making any changes when he took over from Marco Baroni in the summer.
Guendouzi was sold to Fenerbahce for €28m plus €2m in add-ons and made a perfect debut today, scoring in the Turkish Supercup victory over Galatasaray.
Now he could be followed to the Turkish Super Lig by teammate Nuno Tavares, who has struggled to fit in with Sarri’s style of football and has a notoriously awful injury record.
According to Sky Sports Switzerland, the former Arsenal man is eager to make the transfer and expects the two clubs to reach an agreement.
LaLazioSiamoNoi maintain that there is a significant €3m gap between the current proposal from Besiktas and the Lazio asking price of €18m.
While Al-Ittihad had also shown an interest in the Portuguese player, it is fairly clear that there is no future at Lazio for him.
