Tottenham Hotspur are closely monitoring Brentford forward Kevin Schade. The 24-year-old has been in bright form for Brentford this season, scoring six goals and adding three assists in 20 Premier League games.
The player has attracted interest from several top clubs and is expected to be on the move after this summer’s World Cup. Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has reported that Brentford value Schade at around €50m, with Tottenham closely monitoring developments.
Brentford still hold out hope of extending the player’s deal beyond the current 2028 expiry, but are reportedly resigned to losing him next summer. Schade will have fond memories of Tottenham boss Thomas Frank who was at the helm at Brentford from 2018-2015.
It was Frank who brought Schade to Brentford for a then club record fee of £22m from Freiburg in 2023. Tottenham retain a long term interest in the player and could now formalize an approach. Schade becomes the latest name to be added to Tottenham’s growing shortlist of forwards.
Thomas Frank’s side are believed to be on the market for forwards amid links to several top names. Manchester City pair Savinho and Omar Marmoush, as well as Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis, and Monaco’s Magnes Akliouche have all been linked with moves to Tottenham.
FC Porto striker Samu Aghehowa is another name linked to the club. Spurs are reportedly on the market for both wingers and strikers, and Schade’s versatility is believed to be an attracting quality.
The German is lauded for his pace, trickery, and goalscoring ability as well as his comfort playing anywhere across the front line. Spurs have sold Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace this month, so their search for more cover in the attacking areas is one of both necessity and desire.
The club were believed to be on the market for forwards even before Johnson’s sale however, as they search to solve their goalscoring woes.
