Serie A: Milan vs. Genoa – Confirmed line-ups

Serie A: Milan vs. Genoa – Confirmed line-ups

Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic are chosen to lead the line alongside each other for Milan, who host Genoa in San Siro in the final match of the 19th round of Serie A fixtures on Thursday evening.

Due to various injury and fitness issues, the star Rossoneri attackers have only started alongside each other once in Serie A so far this season: For the 1-0 victory against current league leaders Inter in November.

January signing Niclas Fullkrug is the alternative option up front, with Santiago Gimenez and Christopher Nkunku unavailable on this occasion.

A victory for Milan this evening will see them move three points clear of the third-placed Napoli, and back to within a point of the table-topping Inter.

Genoa are without a win across any of their last four matches and currently sit one place above the Serie A relegation zone, but are at no risk of dropping into the bottom three this evening.

Daniele De Rossi names a similar side to the one that drew 1-1 with Pisa on Saturday. Alessandro Marcandalli replaces Sebastian Otoa at centre-back in the only Grifone change. Milan loanee Lorenzo Colombo lines up against his parent club alongside Vitinha in attack.

Kick-off is due at 17.45 GMT.

Milan (3-5-2): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Pulisic, Leao.

Subs: Terracciano, Torriani, Estupiñan, Ricci, De Winter, Loftus-Cheek, Füllkrug, Athekame, Odogu, Jashari, Castiello.

Genoa (3-5-2): Leali; Marcandalli, Ostigard, Vasquez; Norton-Cuffy, Malinovskyi, Frendrup, Thorsby, Martin; Colombo, Vitinha.

Subs: Lysionok, Sommariva, Stanciu, Sabelli, Ekhator, Cuenca, Otoa, Fini, Masini, Venturino, Ellertsson, Nuredini.

Quick take: Match context: momentum and small details could decide this one, especially set-pieces and transitions. Form and fitness will matter; expect managers to rotate carefully around the congested schedule. We’ll keep an eye on confirmed details as the story develops from official sources.
