Sassuolo vs Juventus – Kelly & Conceicao left out of Bianconeri squad

Juventus will be without both Francisco Conceição and Lloyd Kelly for their trip to face Sassuolo this evening, further stretching head coach Luciano Spalletti’s options.

The Bianconeri’s injury list continues to grow ahead of the clash at the Mapei Stadium, with Federico Gatti, Arkadiusz Milik, Daniele Rugani and Dusan Vlahovic also unavailable.

The match in Reggio Emilia, expected to be played in freezing conditions, will therefore test Juventus’ squad depth once again.

Conceição was forced off at half-time against Lecce after struggling with a hamstring issue that has lingered since the game against Roma, while Kelly is dealing with a thigh problem.

According to La Repubblica, both players had been doubts coming into the weekend and were ultimately left out as a precaution.

Spalletti is now weighing up his tactical options. One solution could see Teun Koopmeiners drop into a back three, with Weston McKennie pushed forward into a more advanced role.

Alternatively, the Juventus coach could hand a starting opportunity to Edon Zhegrova, offering fresh attacking impetus from the outset against Sassuolo.

With absences mounting and rotation unavoidable, Spalletti will be hoping his reshuffled side can still finish the first half of the campaign on a positive note.
