Ghana and Olympique Lyonnais forward is close to making a return to football after several months out with an injury. The Black Stars forward suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in April during a Ligue 1 match against Lille. The injury forced him to miss the start of the 2025/26 season and the rest of Ghana's World Cup qualifiers. However, after eight months without football, Nuamah delivered an update on social media indicating his imminent comeback."A man who is been through the storm wont fear the rain. Hes seen the toughest times, faced the hardest battle and still stands tall. Every set back has shaped him. Lead me to the starting line. Soon soon soon soon," posted the forward on social media.Nuamah is currently at the latter stages of his rehabilitation and will begin work with football in the upcoming weeks. He is expected to return to action in early 2026, which will be a huge boost for Ghana as the national team prepares for the World Cup in North America. The 22-year-old played a key role in the qualifiers, scoring an important goal in the away win against Mali in Bamako.Ghana, who failed to qualify for AFCON 2025, have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia.
