Massimiliano Allegri told the AC Milan management he’d like to reunite with Thiago Silva, but they were not as keen on the idea.
Milan didn’t want to waste any time fixing some holes in the squad which have been exposed in this first part of the season, in particular in the cup competition. As soon as the January transfer window opens, Massimiliano Allegri will have a gift: Niclas Füllkrug.
The German striker will bring size and height to the Rossoneri’s attack, qualities that were missing before. He will join on a loan with option to buy deal, having already flown in for a medical which took place on Tuesday.
SportMediaset report that Allegri also dream of another signing: a central defender. Max had mentioned that he was keen on bringing Thiago Silva back to the club, but the Brazilian’s profile didn’t warm up the club’s top brass.
However, the transfer window hasn’t even begun, so it’s not out of the question that the right opportunity to shore up the defence could arise on the fly. It is not expected that there will be any kind of major economic outlay, so it will be more a case of potentially seizing a loan deal.

A lot of these news feel like fake news because Thiago Silva wants to play to make the Brazilian WC team. Would Allegri drop Gabbia to play Thiago Silva? Would Thiago Silva accept a substitution role behind Gabbia? No. I highly doubt Thiago Silva would have returned to Milan to be a substitute knowing the WC is next summer.
