Burkina Faso produced a moment that will live long in Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) history after becoming the first team to win a match in regulation time despite trailing as late as the 95th minute.The historic feat came during their dramatic 2-1 Group E victory over Equatorial Guinea in Casablanca on Wednesday. What appeared to be an afternoon of frustration for the Stallions turned into sheer disbelief in the dying moments, as they scored twice deep into stoppage time to snatch all three points.Equatorial Guinea, reduced to 10 men early in the second half, had stunned Burkina Faso in the 85th minute when substitute Marvin Aniebo headed home from a corner. With time running out, Burkina Faso pushed everyone forward, refusing to accept defeat despite the late setback.Their persistence paid off in the fifth minute of added time when substitute Georgi Minougou reacted quickest inside the box to level the score. Just moments later, Edmond Tapsoba completed the turnaround, powering home the winner to spark wild celebrations among players and supporters.Minougous goal also marked a significant milestone, becoming Burkina Fasos 50th goal at the AFCON since the country adopted its current name. Before that, Upper Volta had scored only two goals in the competition.
