Chelsea and Manchester City are both considering January moves for Leicester City teenager Jeremy Monga. The 16-year-old made his Premier League debut for Leicester last season at the age of 15 years and 271 days.
He has continued to impress for the Foxes, becoming a regular in the first team following their relegation to the Championship. He’s made 14 appearances this season, scoring his first senior goal in August.
Monga’s style of play has drawn comparisons to Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri for his pace, two footed dribbling, and ability to operate effectively on either flank. He was considered a generational talent when climbing through the youth ranks at Leicester, and has been lauded for his maturity by both his former manager Ruud van Nistelrooy and his current boss Marti Cifuentes.
TEAMtalk has now reported that Leicester are braced for January bids for their star prospect, and have slapped a price tag of €10m on the player. Chelsea and Man City are confirmed interested suitors as well La Liga giants Real Madrid.
Chelsea’s recruitment strategy in recent windows as has circled around young talent. The Blues snapped up the likes of Estevao, Alejandro Garnacho, Liam Delap, Jorrel Hato, and Jamie Gittens this summer, while also agreeing deals to bring Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo to the club in 2026 and beyond.
They are also believed to be interested in Genk wonderkid Konstantinos Karetsas. Chelsea are now looking to add Monga to the list of young talents arriving at Stamford Bridge.
Leicester however are in no rush to sell. Monga signed a new deal over summer and is set to sign his first professional contract on his 17th birthday in 2026.
The Foxes will be hoping a fresh deal will give them leverage in future negotiations, while interested parties will look to strike before that point. Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a January bid while the player is still a youth prospect.
