According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Alberto Gilardino is on the brink at Pisa and could be replaced by Davide Ancelotti.
Pisa are considering sacking their coach Gilardino to hire Carlo Ancelotti’s son Davide, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
Pisa have only won one game this season and sit 19th in the Serie A table.
Stefano Moreo’s late goal against Cagliari this past weekend avoided a new defeat for the Nerazzurri as well as Gilardino’s sacking, according to Gazzetta, but the coach’s dismissal only seems to have been postponed.
The newly promoted Serie A side will play the next match at home against Juventus, and Gilardino will likely be fired if they lose.
Naturally, Pisa’s poor results (one win, eight draws and seven defeats in Serie A this season) are the main reasons why club directors are considering sacking the 2006 Italy World Cup winner.
Safety is just three points away for the Tuscans, and the club are planning to sign reinforcements in the January window, but with a new coach in charge.
Ancelotti has recently been sacked by Brazilian side Botafogo after completing his first season as the head coach of a professional club.
