MN: Predicted Milan XI for Sassuolo clash – Allegri sticks with the starters

AC Milan are expected to stick with a standard XI for the game against Sassuolo, despite the Supercoppa Italiana being around the corner. 

This was probably an overlooked game when the fixture list came out. However, now it is of massive importance to Milan. A win would keep them top for the festive period, but it would also be a first success against a newly promoted team.

Massimiliano Allegri is sticking to his guns, both literally and metaphorically for this game, in prioritising the game directly ahead of his team. So, he is not expected to make rotational changes here.

Mike Maignan, Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic will not be displaced in the backline, then. The quartet have been solid this season, and Allegri reinforced his trust in them during his press conference today.

The midfield will stay the same, too, it seems, despite suggestions that Samuele Ricci may come into the midfield three. So, Ruben Loftus-Cheek will line up next to Adrien Rabiot and Luka Modric again.

Replacing Rafael Leao will be Christian Pulisic, whilst Christopher Nkunku will start a third successive Serie A game.
