Sky Sport Italia reports that Manuel Akanji’s condition is improving, so the ex-Manchester City defender is expected to be available tonight when his Inter side meet Liverpool in the Champions League.
Swiss defender Akanji has recovered from a fever and is expected to be available for tonight’s Champions League meeting with Liverpool at San Siro.
The former Manchester City centre-back did not train with the rest of the team on the eve of the match on Monday, but according to the latest update from Milan, he should be available to go on the bench tonight.
There’s a chance that Akanji could even start against the Reds, but Francesco Acerbi is ready to join Yann Bisseck and Alessandro Bastoni in central defence, starting his second game in a row.
There’s still a doubt for the right wing-back position with either Luis Henrique or Carlos Augusto starting wide.
Akanji, 30, joined Inter on loan with an option to buy last summer. The Nerazzurri hold an option to make his move permanent from Manchester City for €15m at the end of the season.
