Tarik Muharemovic is hardly a surprise, but his performance to neutralise Fiorentina’s Moise Kean further confirmed what a bargain he has been for Sassuolo.
The Bosnian centre-back won’t celebrate his 23rd birthday until February 2026, but was decisive in today’s 3-1 victory at the Mapei Stadium.
Not only did he score a goal, his first in Serie A to give them the 2-1 lead, he also provided an assist and completely neutralised the top threat Kean.
Juventus purchased Muharemovic in the summer of 2021 and will have a 50 per cent cut of his future sale fee.
Even with that in mind, Sassuolo still have a bargain on their hands, first getting him on loan and then buying for €5m including add-ons.
He will inevitably be mentioned on the transfer market next summer, especially if his performances continue along this level.
A few big Italian clubs already have their sights set on him, but there is also interest from abroad.
