Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori limped off during today’s Premier League defeat to Aston Villa and is certainly out of the next Arsenal match against Wolves.
The former Bologna man, who plays largely as a left-back for the Gunners, played for 86 minutes and had already been substituted with cramp before the late Aston Villa winner for 2-1.
He was spotted limping heavily as he left the field after the final whistle, raising concerns over another potential injury for the 23-year-old.
The player had already been forced to miss Italy’s crucial World Cup qualifiers last month.
Meanwhile, Arsenal already know that Calafiori will not be available for the next Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers next Saturday.
This is because he was booked and has therefore accumulated enough yellow cards to activate a suspension.
The big question is whether or not the Italian will be fit for the Champions League trip to Club Brugge on Wednesday.
He has made 17 competitive appearances for Arsenal so far this season, contributing one goal and three assists.
