Premier League legend tipped to succeed Pep Guardiola at Manchester City

Pep Guardiola’s tenure at Manchester City has been nothing short of extraordinary.

In nearly a decade at the Etihad, the Spaniard has reshaped modern football, guiding the club to six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups, and the club’s first-ever UEFA Champions League, part of a historic treble in the 2022/23 season.

Despite this unprecedented success, all eras eventually come to an end. Guardiola’s current contract runs until 2027, and while discussions over an extension may continue, the clock is ticking on the next chapter of City’s managerial history.

Amid that speculation, attention has turned to a former Premier League star who is quickly establishing himself as one of football’s most promising young managers.

Cesc Fabregas, now in charge at Como, has been tipped as a potential successor to Guardiola at Manchester City.

Football Italia suggest that both Manchester City and Barcelona could emerge as destinations for Fabregas as early as next summer.

With Guardiola’s contract still running until 2027, City would need to act decisively if they hope to secure the 36-year-old as a long-term replacement. Meanwhile, Barcelona remain committed to Hansi Flick, whose domestic treble last season solidified his standing at Camp Nou, though his contract also expires in June 2027.

Fabregas’ rapid rise has cemented his reputation as one of the brightest managerial prospects in Europe, and his name is increasingly being linked with some of football’s biggest clubs.

Whether he ends up at the Etihad or elsewhere, the former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder is widely regarded as a future managerial star.
