Santiago Gimenez’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, says that potential interest from Premier League clubs would be ‘normal’ but denies that his client will leave Milan in January.
Gimenez’s agent, Pimenta, has denied that the Mexican striker will leave Milan in the January transfer window.
“That there may be one, two or three clubs interested seems normal to me, but the idea that he can leave Milan does not exist,” Pimenta told ESPN.
Gimenez, a former Feyenoord star, hasn’t yet scored a goal in Serie A this season, and various sources in Italy have claimed that the striker will consider leaving San Siro next month. Premier League clubs Sunderland, Brentford and West Ham have been linked with signing Gimenez in the January transfer window.
Gimenez joined Milan in the January 2025 transfer window for €28.5m plus add-ons from Feyenoord and has scored seven goals in 30 appearances across all competitions with the Serie A giants.
“Santi arrived at Milan in January. They were not first in the standings,” Pimenta continued.
“Milan have always been very positive in the messages and words I’ve exchanged with them. There has never been a moment when Milan told me, ‘Things are not going well.’ But all the press keeps talking, talking too much every time. When I call Milan, they always say: ‘We are fine, thank you.’”
Gimenez has made 11 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring a goal in Coppa Italia and providing one assist. His contract at San Siro expires in June 2029.
