Holy Stars wouldn’t be battling relegation if they played every game like they did against Kotoko – Karim Zito

Basake Holy Stars stunned Asante Kotoko 2-1 in Ampain, ending the Kumasi giants’ ten-game unbeaten run in the Ghana Premier League.The defeat leaves Kotoko three points behind leaders Aduana FC with 20 points, missing a chance to climb to the top.In his post-match comments, coach Abdul Karim Zito suggested Holy Stars’ strong showing against Kotoko was not reflective of their usual form."The way for every club, we all want to win the league. It's not only Kotoko. Even the way you play here, if that’s how you play every club, then you wouldn't be last," Zito said.He added: "Everybody wants to beat Kotoko. That is the nature of the issue. But we didn't play badly. We played good football and created chances. Putting the ball into the net was, once again, the problem. But so far, so good. We are playing the league."Kotoko will aim to bounce back when they host Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.Medeama currently sit third with 22 points, making the encounter a crucial clash for league positioning.Holy Stars, meanwhile, remain 17th in the relegation zone with 9 points.
