Arsenal are interested in signing Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber as a free agent next summer. The twin of Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber, Quinten Timber skippers the Feyenoord side and has impressed as the key man in the centre of the park.
His contract is now entering the final six months, and CaughtOffside has reported that Arsenal are among the teams monitoring his situation. Arsenal have reportedly been tracking the player since signing the other Timber, and could now look to reunite the two in the summer.
The Gunners could face competition from Borussia Dortmund however, with the Bundesliga outfit believed to be leading the race for Timber’s signature. Reports suggest Dortmund are considering accelerating a move for the player by offering a small fee in January.
Feyenoord would likely budge if it means they avoid losing the player for free in the summer. At the moment no concrete news of a Dortmund bid has been confirmed, so Arsenal remain in the race.
Manchester United and West Ham are also believed to interested in the player.
Both Timbers began their youth career in Feyenoord before moving to Ajax. While Jurrien stayed with Ajax and eventually broke into the first team, Quinten made the move to Utrecht before rejoining Feyenoord.
He’s gone on to establish himself as one of the key men in the side, becoming captain in September of 2024. He’s scored 16 goals in 83 matches for the club.
He has one goal and one assist in 11 matches so far this season as Feyenoord sit 2nd in the Eredevisie table. Timber has caught the eye of several top European clubs for his versatility and comfortability using both feet.
Timber can play in multiple positions across midfield or as a makeshift defender. Dortmund are seen as favorites to sign Timber due to less competition for places.
Breaking into the Arsenal midfield would be difficult given that Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice occupy similar positions.
